After spending a few more days at the bakery, the arrangements were finally finished for your trip to Sindria. Waking up to another morning, you walked into the living room to see Satoshi and Miss Alima sitting in deep conversation. You walked over to see what was bothering them, however when you neared them they ended their conversation and looked up to you.

"Ah, um what were you guys talking about just now? It seemed important."

Satoshi spoke up. "It's just about Mari, but it's nothing much." He then got up and placed a pouch in your hands. "So, you ready?"

You nodded your head enthusiastically. "Yep!"

Miss Alima also got up from her seat. "The trip should be fairly easy, if it were any other country you'd have to stop at multiple different checkpoints. But, this time your trip is just going to be one boat ride to Sindria."

"Alright, thank you so much."

"Ah, but we'd better hurry to the port." Satoshi tossed you a cloak and also a knife. "You might want to cut your hair shorter. It'll be easier to keep you from being discovered."

You looked at the knife in your hands. You didn't want to cut your hair any shorter than the length it was, but you gave in. Lifting the knife up to your head you cut your hair as short as you could, leaving yourself with a boyish haircut. You sighed once it was over with, it was too late to change your mind.

You put the cloak on and pulled it over your head. Miss Alima smiled at you, "I didn't think it was possible for you to look like a boy (Name), well you still look like a girly boy at least."

Satoshi also threw on a cloak before exiting the building. You followed behind him through the busy streets as he walked very swiftly through the crowds making it hard for you to keep up. "W-wait, Satoshi!"

He stopped and turned around to you. Before you could ask him to walk slower for you, your attention snapped over to you hearing your own name. Another rumor maybe? But then you heard Mari's name also. You turned to the people conversing about something.

"Wow, execution for something small like that. Some of those people may even be innocent!"

"Well, they did help a criminal escape."

"Still..."

You looked back to Azumi. "About Mari, um where is she? I kinda wanted to say bye to her."

He glanced over to the people you had been looking at and listened to what they were saying. He sighed as he looked apologetic. "Mari along with anyone else who left the palace the night of your escape are being sentenced to execution for helping a criminal escape from detainment."

"Wait, you can't be serious!"

"I am. You weren't supposed to learn about this though. It's probably just be a trap to lure you back into the palace. You seem like the kind of person who would run off anywhere in order to help."

"That's right! There's no way I could live with myself if I let people die because of me." You froze, you were still living, but hadn't Yosuke died because of you.

"But if you go, Koumei will know one of the people that he has arrested had helped you escape. If he figures out who, he might torture Mari!" Satoshi made a desperate attempt to convince you to not go.

"That's not necessarily true. It could be that I came back just because I didn't want innocent people to get hurt because of me."

"Do you want to go back or something?!"

"Of course I don't, but... I... I have no choice! I will go back and once everyone is free, I'll kill myself with the poison you gave me." You turned around and started heading towards the palace.

"(Name), I promised Miss Alima I would get you to Sindria. Mari can take care of herself and the likelihood that she, along with those other innocent people, will be executed is very small. Everything points to this being a trap."

"I can't risk other people's lives."

"Listen we already have broken into the palace and have helped many innocent people escape, including you. We will be able to get Mari and everyone else out of there whether Koumei actually plans to execute them or not. Right now you need to get on that ship to Sindria!"

"No, this time he probably is prepared. I'm certain he has lots of people guarding them and won't let anyone near. When Koumei has his mind set on something he will stop at nothing to accomplish it. I-I know from... experience." After all, he hadn't hesitated one bit in killing Yosuke.

"(Name), what Mari is doing is something she was prepared for the moment she told miss Alima she would get you out of— no, she was prepared for this the moment she joined the Infitada. You on the other hand have no connections to any of this, Mari didn't get you out for you, she did it for Alima. So, whatever happens, it isn't your fault. In no way are you involved in any of this!"

You stood in thought for a while longer. "Satoshi, does the Infitada have any wishes to kill Koumei?"

"Well, something like that would certainly- but he has a djinn. Nothing like that could be achieved."

"No I can help! I can go back and get his djinn away from him. I could go undercover! Let me join the Infitada. Then I would be directly involved in all of this."

"(Name)!"

"Let me go. I know it's not official or anything, but consider me part of the Infitada as of now! Once this mission is complete, I won't quit. I'll do whatever else is needed of me."

"..."

"..."

"...fine... Do whatever you want. We'll figure it all out." With those words, you darted off without saying anything else.

Arriving at the palace gates, you put your hand in your pocket to make sure the poison was inside. You didn't want to use it, but you wanted it there just in case. Alongside the poison you felt the advertisement paper. Pulling it out, you tore it up so if Koumei found it he would be unable to trace anything back to The Crummy Cake Bakery. Finally, you walked up to the guards at the gate. They watched you approach as you cleared your throat. "I'm the runaway criminal (Name) (Last N.) and I've come to turn myself in."

They looked at you and then looked away without saying anything else. You didn't quite understand why they would ignore you. If Koumei was so desperate to find you and if this was a trap wouldn't he have allowed anyone claiming to be (Name) enter. "Hey, did you not hear me? I'm (Name) the criminal that innocent people are being punished for helping to escape. Aren't I wanted or something?"

They looked at you again and one spoke up. "Scram kid. The escaped criminal (Name) is a girl."

You remembered the boy's clothes you were wearing, then how short your hair was. They probably just saw you as some sort of pretty boy. "I am a girl!" You found yourself shouting.

Their faces showed that they wanted you to leave them alone. "Fine fine, seeing as we were told to let in anyone claiming to be (Name)." The man grabbed your wrist and shoved you in the gateway, to be confronted by more guards. "This person is claiming to be (Name) (Last N.)."

You looked back at the gate which you could no longer go back through. Once you had crossed through, you knew there was no chance of you leaving again. One guard grabbed you arm and dragged you along. "This way!" He bellowed.

Taking you through many familiar places you were brought to the prison building. Inside and down that spiral staircase you were tossed into a cell, which you recognized to be the same one Yosuke had been locked in. "The Prince, Koumei, will be informed of your arrival shortly."

He then left you to wallow in your sadness of Yosuke's death, which you were reminded of by the cell. The very place you were in was the same place Yosuke had awaited his horrible death. You noticed stains of blood covering the place and hoped Koumei hadn't tortured Yosuke before his already bad enough death. You refused to believe the blood was Yosuke's.

After getting as comfortable as you could in a cell, it crossed you mind that Mari might be in a nearby cell, she was arrested after all. You looked through the bars of other cells and past other prisoners, unfortunately you were unable to find her. If this was all a trap like Satoshi said Mari probably wasn't even in a cell, but rather in some nice room.

You sat on the dirty floor while a little light shown in from a high up window. As time past the light began to get darker and darker. Then, you realized those guards must have not told Koumei that you were there. They didn't believe you were who you said you were. If you hadn't been yourself and you really were some crazy person who wanted to be imprisoned and wanted to take credit for being a criminal, you never would have noticed you were forgotten. But being who you were, you knew that Koumei wouldn't just leave you alone if he knew you were here. You sighed, you didn't mind being stuck in that cell forever and never being found by Koumei. Actually the idea that Koumei would leave you alone sent a exciting feeling up your stomach. This cell didn't seem so bad, but you still needed to finish your mission!
